Ultra Running is any distance more than a marathon. Yes, you read that right. More than a marathon. Races generally start at 50km and work their way up to 200+ mile multi-day events that push both your physical and mental limits.
For me, this is why I do it. The challenge. There is no escaping, or last minute preparing for such an event. You have to do the groundwork. There are not shortcut. No easy ways to get to the finish. It is you against your mind, your body, and the course and it is revitalising.
Also, I may be kind of OK at it. At least…I am good at suffering.
